Sinopsis:

Twelve-year-old Emil has fallen on hard times; his mother has left and his father lost his job. Things begin to look up however, when his dad gets another job and his mother gives him some money. Then his father is injured in a car crash and Emil is sent to stay in Berlin. On the train, Emil runs into a con-man who steals all his money. Penniless and alone, he runs into Pony, a cute girl around his age that offers to help him out. She is part of The detectives, a gang of young people who all have problems at home. A series of adventures lead Emil and the detectives all over Berlin until eventually they help the police to capture the evil thief.
