The War Is Over
Movie description:
DVD vom Fernsehen At the end of World War 2, 3 boys in a small French town, see tanks approaching and believe that the Americans have come to liberate them. They run to the villge and assemble the people to greet the Americans. To their horror, they discover that the tanks are not from the allies, but from the Germans. After the death of one citizen, because of the mistake the boys made, the boys run away in shame. They must survive on their own in the French countryside, and when they run into a German soldier in a deserted mill, they expect the worst. However the German Soldier is actually not a soldier, and teams up with the boys reluctantly as they wander around whilst deciding what to do next. When the Americans finally do arive, will they be so lucky? Whilst not understanding the language, the film was not too hard to follow, and the performances by brothers, Antoine and Julien, were simply superb. A great film.
