Movie description:
In ancient Greece a shepherd boy, 13, loves a girl, 14, who teases him as they play by the lakeside. One day they see an older shepherd making love to another village girl. Soon after an older boy, about 15, rapes the girl. Skymnos, the boy, sees it but misunderstands and thinks the girl has betrayed him.
One of the few Greek films to achieve great popularity in the West, »Young Aphrodites« won many film festival awards. Vangelis made a number of other films but they were seldom seen outside of Greece.
