Each day a young boy watches as a man and woman meet in front of his house, leave together, then return later to their separate cars. One day when the woman is late, he engages the man with a story about the toy soldiers he has parachuting from a tree.
A precocious young boy plays with toy paratroopers in his yard and witnesses a man and woman engaged in an extramarital affair. He confronts the man and after an awkward beginning, and a little adventure, they develop an unlikely friendship.
