Υπόθεση:
John is a tennis fan. When one day he goes with his mother to buy new shoes, he wants a very expensive pair – a pair which doesn’t even fit him. Nevertheless, the two buy the pair of shoes, fibbing about the price to the father. With blisters on his feet, however, the fantastic shoes soon loose their fascination. When John’s mother dies in an accident, everything changes for both him and his father. Although John knows that his mother is dead, he encounters her in his dreams in a very real way. She continually invents new explanations for why she has been away for so long or even how she has been able to become alive again. As Christmas nears, John’s father says they’ll spend the festive holidays without much ado. Despite John hiding his disappointment, an incident occurs. Finally John’s father gives him a present which he had found in the mother’s closet: the desired sports shoes in the right size. In sensitive images the film describes how John slowly learns to accept the death of his mother, and how father and son cope together with a new situation.
