Υπόθεση:
When ever Nicholas and his friend Yannis play with their slingshots a window gets occasionally broken. Yet this time around Nicholas has the bad luck of getting caught by the angry Mrs. Ourania. She threatens to tell his father. Now Nicholas is afraid of getting into even more big trouble for ever since the death of his mother his father drinks and often beats him. A short time later a puppet theater which performs with silhouette figures arrives in the Greek village. Secretly, Ni-cholas sneaks out one evening to attend a performance. He sits captivated and cannot take his eyes off the spectacle, for in the play a father beats his son. Even when the whole audience has gone home, Nicholas still remains seated. After awhile the old puppet master Karagiozis walks up to him and greets him. He is very friendly and by no means brusque and surly like his figures. He invites Nicholas to come to the next performance the following evening. Nicholas’ thoughts now solely revolve around the puppet play. Even in school during break he sketches the figure of the father, and cannot wait for the evening to arrive. The following day the puppet master leaves the village. But Nicholas will have received something far more precious than just a lasting memory.
