Υπόθεση:

Makar, a criminal investigator, is trying to find a stolen collection of antic treasures during the Spring of 1918.

In the spring of 1918, a valuable collection of pictures and sculptures, requisitioned from Prince Tikhvinsky, vanishes on the way to Petrograd. Among those drawn into the search are Makar Ovchinnikov, Marquis the Adventurer, and Keshka, a teen-age lad.

Spring 1918. After the Russian Revolution, Prince Tikhvinsky’s collection of paintings and sculptures was to be nationalized. However, Tarakanov, the Prince’s former land steward steals it, enlisting the help of the fencing master nicknamed Marquis and the orphaned boy Keshka. They join a traveling circus in an attempt to transfer the stolen masterpieces abroad. The shrewd Soviet detective Makar Ovchinnikov follows their tracks.
