Υπόθεση:
Milo, a rebellious young child, has been experimenting with different outlets for his angst and budding sexuality. When Milo’s worn-out and irritable father discovers a disturbing secret of his son’s, he takes his son’s punishment too far – creating unfortunate consequences for the whole family. »Disgrace« is a relentless study of top-down aggression.
Milo and Nick are fighting and arguing in the front room, in a way that doesn’t seem out of the ordinary. The father comes home and is greeted on his porch by a foreclosure notice. Entering the house he sends the youngest upstairs to his room, keeping the eldest to have a much needed one-to-one conversation ...
During the waning hours of twilight in a small New England coal town, a lower middle class family is thrust into crisis. The father, a rigid man of wounded masculinity, discovers that their house is being seized in a foreclosure but refuses to mention it. Instead, he channels his anger towards his family. Meanwhile, his son Milo, a restless cynical boy and a bully of sorts, has been developing a penchant for pornography depicting acts of extreme violence towards women; a dark interest that his parents have recently discovered.
What ensues is a bitter showdown between father and son; a corporeal exchange that implicates the whole family. As the pair becomes increasingly at ends, we begin to see that the two are not, in fact, all that different. As the eternal expression states; like father, like son.
