Υπόθεση:

El Pollo, a 12-year-old boy in reform school, witnesses and experiences the brutalization of the guards and the other inmates.

When El Pollo (»the chicken«) is captured by authorities for stealing, he has the bad luck to be sent to a children’s correctional institution. There, conditions are little short of nightmarish. When the boys there riot, he escapes confinement for a short while but is soon recaptured and sent to another institution, which is run by women. If conditions at the first of these locations were almost unbearable, the situation he finds himself in at the second is even worse.

A young boy ends up in a cruel and strict reform school which he ultimately escapes. However, while on the street, he steals a lady’s purse and is caught again and sent to another prison like place. This one is religious (and yet just as strict) and here he befriends Maria, one of the ladies that help run the place and she helps him plan an escape. One night, he tries to escape, and two other boys follow, only to find that it is not that easy.
