Everything’s changing in Lockie’s world. Not that long ago he had a best friend. Now, Egg is brushing him off to hang out with bogan Curtis Ferraris. At least he can always chat to Vicki on the internet – but Vicki isn’t online. Perhaps her school’s server is down again, or perhaps Lockie needs to move on, like everyone else seems to be. Phillip wishes things could stay the same. Now Marjorie has figured out her comet is in their orbit after all, she’s preparing for her final departure. The problem is, Phillip isn’t ready to say goodbye yet. Lockie agrees to sneak off to the city to collect something to make Phillip’s farewell easier. While there, he springs a surprise visit on Vicki, where he learns her new life is miles away from what he imagined. She’s looking towards the future, so what’s Lockie’s problem? As Sarge explains, you can’t stop the future from happening – it happens... it just happens.
