The Morells and the Wagners, two close families that meet regularly to play cards, live in a suburb of Hamburg. What the parents don’t know is that the Wagners’ son, Paul, badly persecutes and torments the slightly younger Robert Morell. One day, Paul threatens him with a weapon and finally gives it to Robert, taunting and provoking him to pull the trigger. The despairing boy actually does shoot his tormenter. That same night, father and mother Morell bury the corpse in an attempt to cover up the deed. But this supposed care and concern causes the lives of all those involved to come off the rails.
