Laura and Franco have recently separated. Franco is paying alimony, which helps to care for their son Luca. Laura takes a job as a phone sex operator in order to help make ends meet. Franco uses this as an opportunity to challenge for custody of Luca. Meanwhile, through her job, Laura makes contact with a weirdo who seems intent on harming her son.
