Sinopsis:
A lively if tonally uneven coming-of-age story, ëSukcesë is hardly the ëPolish Forrest Gumpë its production notes tout it to be, but there are a few tasty chocolates in its box. With this sophomore feature, actor-turned-helmer Marek Bukowski marbles together recent Polish history with the story of an aspiring actor from the sticks, much like pic’s own director, who arrives in Warsaw seeking his fortune in the late ’80s and grows to disappointed maturity there. Film is proving popular with smaller fests, but foreign-sales success, like the hero’s one true love, remains more elusive.
