Sinopsis:
Some school kids stumble across a briefcase full of money, when they go back for it, they find a body instead. When they bring the police, neither is there, and the police refuses to believe them. Later they discover both were part of an assassination plot. Now they have to figure out how to stop the plot and put the bad guys in jail.
This film deals with a Boys Home somewhere in the Mid-Western U.S.
The kids like to play miniature sleuths and cruise the town, creating many problems for the Sherriff.
When the boys discover a suit case full of cash, they hiude the cash and hurry to tell the Sherriff of their finding.
Unfortunately, when they return with the Sherriff in tow, the money has vanished without trace, confirming the Sherriffs suspicion, that he cannot trust these young kids.
The kids return later to the place where they found the money, and to their shock, find a dead body there ...
They race to get the Sherriff again, and eventually he agrees to trust them one last time, so they return to the body ... which is no longer there.
The Sheriff has had about enough from this group and puts them in his squad car to go to the station with him. Once there, he intends to complain to the boys school director, for all the pranks that the boys have played on him.
As they reach town, the Boys see a stranger standing at the train station holding the very same bag which contained all the Cash.
The Boys plead with the Sheriff to stop the man and to ask the man to show some identification as well as the contents of the suitcase. The man at first balks at the request. Then he shows the small town Sheriff that he has Diplomatic papers, and is a personal assistant to the Prime Minister of a Mid-Eastern Country. They are here in town to see the Prime Ministers daughter graduate from a local girls school, he explains.
Not willing to arouse suspicion upon himself, he complies with the Sheriffs request to open the suitcase for examination. The case contains only his clothing and no cash at all. The Sheriff is embarrassed by his findings and apologizes for what he had been told by the boys.
The Man polietly dismisses the sitation as a Boyhood Prank on the Sheriff who agrees with him whole heartedly.
Yet the young detectives know that it’s the same suitcase they saw along the roadside. They know this because the initials on the suitcase are the same as they saw on it when they found it.
The Sheriff wants no more of this nonesense and orders the boys back to their dormitory at the boys school.
Will the kids manage to solve this mystery ...?
Is timeless as well as entertaining.
