Sinopsis:
When the king demands that coastal villages surrender their ships to him during a savage civil war, the villagers feel that he has gone too far. The headman takes most of the men of the village aboard his ship and sails off, leaving behind the youngsters, women, drunks, and the handicapped to cope with a band of brutish Vikings. Those remaining have a choice, be massacred, or build a ship for the king. Harald, the headman’s son, finds it difficult to cope with the new power structure, and isn’t quick to acquiesce, in time he finds the spirit to fight when he sees his retarded brother and mother being poorly treated by their new masters. He finds a kindered soul in, a slave girl he has known all his life but never talked to before and then has to face the truth about his Dad. Be prepared for some dark plot twists by the end.

Gut gemachter Film mit einem hübschen Hauptdarsteller, der lernen muß, daß Gut und Böse, Freund und Feind nicht immer eindeutig zu erkennen sind.
Das Ende ist ungewöhnlich und entspricht nicht dem erwarteten Happy-End.
