Sinopsis:
A lonely island in the Baltic Sea end of February. In a strange way Ben’s past returns to him, as he finds a half frozen young boy in a wracked boat in a cold winter night. Ben lost his wife and son tragically as they tried to escape from the former GDR. The boy has a dark skin and he doesn’t speak a word of any familiar language. Slowly it becomes clear that his origins are in Sri Lanka. At the same time the man, who Ben holds responsible for the death of his family, returns to the island as the police officer Heiner Straussenberg.
Since Satya is afraid of police, Ben has even less a reason to deliver the boy to the hands of the state. Slowly Satya begins to trust Ben – he manages to make Ben feel alive again after so many years of sorrow and yearning. Everything seems alright until Mette Hansen, a social worker from Denmark, appears on the island searching for the boy who had fled from a home for refugees. As then a storm rises, Satya flees again and Ben gets into the same situation as once with his own family, trying to save their lives ...
