Movie description:
Ironic tale about Nono, who is about to turn thirteen. According to Jewish tradition, it will soon be time for his Bar Mitzvah. Nono’s father is the best detective inspector in the entire Dutch police force. Nono admires him and is determined to learn everything from him that a police officer needs to know. His father shows it all to him and answers every question. Except, that is, whenever Nono wants to know something about his mother. Then his dad falls strangely silent. Nono’s mother died when he was very young. All he has left of her is a faceless photograph. His relatives are convinced Nono has inherited quite a bit from her, especially when he is naughty. For this reason Nono’s father decides to pack him off to Uncle Sjmoel so he can learn how to behave. But on the way Nono is abducted by a mysterious man who takes him on a turbulent and adventurous journey into the past. Nono is finally able to unravel the secret of his mother, and his father makes a long overdue decision.
