Movie description:
Sully likes to fight with his boss, a town cop, and the Court while he struggles to get by, renting a room from a elderly lady who seems to understand him, and innocently flirting with his boss’s wife.
When his truck breaks down, he hitchhikes, and is picked up by his son and his family, who he hasn’t seen in three years. He abandoned his own wife and son years ago, albeit only by moving three blocks away, and had little contact with them. Now he wants a relationship, both with his son, who is having marital problems of his own, and one of his grandsons.
During all of this, a greedy developer is swindling the town, with the help of a banker who happens to be the son of his landlady. Several other eccentric characters round out the cast, including his best-buddy co-worker who is childishly resentful of Scully wanting his son back in his life, and a quirkish one-legged attorney.
