Movie description:
Jacquot Demy is a boy that loves the theatre.
He loves watching puppet shows, plays and really loves going to the movies. He is fascinated by all of this and it soon becomes his passion when he is loaned a projector and a few short movies.
He sets up his own little theatre and invites his family to watch. Soon he discovers that he could also make his own movies using a camera that he traded some of his toys for. He makes figures from cardboard and shoots them frame-by-frame until he gets a complete movie.
This is a very well made movie and the acting is first class. It is subtitled so it can be hard to follow sometimes but it is well worth it. This is a portrayal of Jacques Demy’s childhood and his start to his career as a very renowned director.
