Movie description:
The Biscuit eater is a story of two boys, one black and one white, who jointly own and train the protagonist-a bird dog-with the hope of running it in the Grand National Field Trials at the Ames Plantation. Overcoming many obstacles, the dog and the boys persevere and learn valuable lessons along the way. There are beautiful images of the dogs pointing bobwhite quail and the subsequent covey rises.
Lonnie’s dad, Harve, has the best bird dog in the State, but can’t do anything with another dog who steals eggs and mopes when called names, so trades him to the local barter-master.
Lonnie and his friend Text barter him back, and train him to enter the bird dog competition. It’s down to the boys’ dog and Harve’s dog, when some waiters overhear Harve’s boss joking about firing him if his dog looses. What will the two boys do? There is also a nasty neighbor who threatens to shoot or poison the dog if he finds it near his chicken house.
Remake of the classic 1940’s film of the same name, which reportedly pre-dates all other boy and his dog films.Boy Actors
