Movie description:
In this staggeringly beautiful film, we follow the boyhood of a pair of young brothers in late 1950s rural France, and then as the family moves to Algeria when father becomes an army medic in the struggle there.
Nine intimate glimpses of pivotal moments in the life of a boy and his little brother, and a chronicle of the changing world around them. Without warning, history crosses their path when war breaks out across the sea in Algeria. Father becomes a soldier, and the open fields of adventure give way to living behind barracks walls. The older brother soon realizes that before him lies the truth and he can never go back.
