Movie description:

The story of a married but separated couple Matthias and Anna, although the wounds are still open, together planning the birthday-party of their son Lukas. When, at the end of the party, little guest Julius isn’t picked up by his parents, a rapid chain of events take place. First Matthias just wants to get rid of Julius. But later the helpless little boy wakes his protector instincts and opens Matthias’eyes for the needs of his own son.

It is seven-year-old Lukas’ birthday. Despite the tense situation, the separated parents Matthias and Anna organise a big children’s party with pinata and cake. In the living room the children are romping around, in the kitchen the parents: the stressed Matthias has, once again, cancelled the upcoming father-son weekend and postponed the promised visit to the zoo. When the party is over, the next problem follows: Little Julius has not been picked up by his parents. Matthias actually only wants to get rid of the unfamiliar boy, but then one thing follows another. Driven by his awakening protective instinct, the part-time dad takes responsibility for the helpless Julius and his eyes finally open for the needs of his own son.
