Late Summer
Movie description:
A photo exhibition: The photographer remembers a history out its childhood, which is caught in its »best« photo: he was a boy, who lost recently his father and is spending some time with his aunt, his uncle and his cousin. He and the cousin get friends and he is fascinated of him. They spend much time with one another. Up to the day, when there is a car accident.

»Late Summer« deals with the sort of unspecified childhood crush that both gays and straights have experienced. After his parents die in a car crash, Adam goes to live with an aunt and uncle; Adam’s popular cousin Josh takes him under his wing. Responding to this all-American teen’s guidance, the sheltered Adam learns how to skateboard and use a still-camera. Frozen in time, one picture celebrates how Josh lives on in his younger cousin’s heart.

An adult photographer, in a showing of his pictures, is remembering the story behind one photo, a photo he refuses to sell. As a really young teen, he is sent to live with his older teen cousin when his dad dies. The older cousin accepts him like a younger brother teaches him a lot. The story is really about their friendship.
Just excellent acting by the two teens – they really play off each other well. The photograph in question is involved in the sudden ending of their relationship.
