Movie description:
A young man struggles to cope with his alcoholic father and physically abused little brother ...
On top of dealing with the usual trials and tribulations of teenage life and the boredom of a dead end job at Jack in the Box, Jim Nolan must also look out for his younger brother, Kelly. Their ineffectual, alcoholic father physically abuses the boy for unstated reasons. Compounding his failure as parent, he has been lying about being unemployed and spends virtually every waking hour in a local dive bar. In spite of this, the brothers remain close and largely content, and their bond helps Jim overcome some of the tough times and disappointments. Tired of his father’s continued animosity towards Kelly, Jim eventually throws his old man out of their home, inadvertently setting the stage for tragedy ...
