Movie description:
It’s always a good day for a funeral at St. Mark’s Middle School. Andy and Charlie, two altar servers, don’t just get to miss class anytime a parishioner kicks the bucket, they cut out early and play hooky as soon as the service is over. Eventually their irreverent personalities will put them in a situation that is too big for them to handle.
Foul-mouthed Charlie and Andy have it made as the go-to alter boys of St. Mark’s Middle School where they’re frequently excused from class to serve at funerals. Not expected back in school after services, they spend their days wandering in town and in the woods, scamming the all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet, and trying to shoplift porn from the local video store. When the elder statesman of the altar boys disappears after hiding a mysterious locked trunk in Andy’s bedroom, the boys are determined to find out what’s inside. With innocent new kid in town Davy in tow their 14-year-old antics quickly get them into trouble way over their heads.
Cleverly scripted and enhanced by a comically contrasting soundtrack, the funny and irreverent »Funeral Kings« was developed from a short film of the same name by writer/director brothers Kevin and Matthew McManus and features standout performances by the film’s young stars.
