Movie description:
At Albert Dooley’s animal behaviour research lab, a duck accidentally wanders into the neighbouring radiation laboratory where it is irradiated by scientists experimenting on a new fuel. Dooley takes the duck home as a pet for his son Jimmy. They are startled to find that it lays eggs made of gold. This proves the solution to the family’s financial problems, but also brings them to the attention of an officious neighbouring Treasury Department official who determines to discover their secret.
Professor Albert Dooley, a lab worker down on his luck, lives in suburbia with his earnest yet scatterbrained wife Katie. When an under-performing lab duck’s life is in jeopardy, Dooley rescues it to become a family pet and soon discovers that some earlier exposure to radiation has turned the duck’s eggs into gold. The Dooley’s newfound wealth brings its share of pandemonium as they try to keep their proverbial »nest egg« under wraps, especially from nosy neighbour Finley Hooper, a government treasury man.
