Movie description:

On the salt flats of the Texcoco basin, in 1964, a water truck driver and a woman find a living baby in the arms of his dead mother. Years later, the trucker runs an ice factory in Iztapalapa together with his son José, who dreams of becoming independent. Felipe is a close neighbour who cyber-stalks a client of his internet café. Andrés lives with his alcoholic father and is a member of an Aztec dance group. The three share a common childhood, in which there was an important incident that binds their fates, and those of the entire barrio, to the baby found in the dry lakebed years before.

A tragic incident in the past haunts the future of a handful of young men in this drama from Mexican filmmaker Alejandro Gerber Bicecci. When they were children, Andrés, Felipe, and José were three friends living in poor community on the outskirts of Mexico City. One morning, Jose’s father found the dead body of an infant and its mother, and the circumstances behind the death became the subject of much speculation in the community. Years later, Andrés is an amateur historian who lives with his ailing father, who has a severe drinking problem. Felipe works in a coffee shop, and Jose helps out his father, who runs an ice plant. While all three are struggling to make lives for themselves in a place stuck in poverty, they’re all haunted by the death they witnessed as children and a number of unanswered questions rise to the surface as the community observes an annual religious festival.
