In »Brainy« 10-year-old Brian tries to come to terms with his grandfather’s death by diving into a world of fantasy.
Brian is a ten years old imaginative boy who is dealing with the loss of his grandfather by constructing a fantastic series of rituals. In Brian’s mind, his grandpa is still alive, living up in space. By blocking out his mum and following his secret mission, Brian manages to escape confronting reality. That is until the day he meets Denice, his slightly older neighbour, from whom he learns that no matter how much we wish for them, some things are just not possible.
In Brian’s mind his Grandpa is still alive, living up in space, and Brian has a mission to collect up dead animals. The dead animals can be launched up to the stars to live again together with Brian’s s grandpa. By blocking out his mum and following his mission Brian manages to escape confronting the truth that he will never see his granddad again. That is until the day Brian meets Denice, his slightly older neighbour, from whom he learns that no matter how much we wish for them, some things just aren’t possible.
