Movie description:
18th Century: Five children spend the day outside in a mysterious garden. When they try to fly a kite, they discover a tree full of red berries. The oldest girl Elise warns that these fruits are poisonous, but the children don’t listen and try them. They are sweet, very sweet. The children eat from them without further thinking. And soon the poison begins to work.
Five kids on the edge of themselves, five kids stepping over borders to escape from their restricting surroundings and the parents who don’t want to be with them. This Short film, though it is settled in the 18th Century, is absolutely contemporary. For me, there is no doubt that children feel their life often more intensely than we grownups. But they don’t have our experience, they do not know how to get relieve from their sorrows. Fantasy and adventure seem often the only escape. Even, if it leads to death.
