Movie description:
A boy dreams of winning an ice hockey game. Meanwhile, a professional hockey star moves into the neighbourhood, offering his services as a goalkeeper – leading two rival teams of Prague schoolboys, The Bezejmenná street team and Čertovka, to fall over themselves in order to gain his favour. The goalie’s son, basking in his father’s glory, is asked to replace a member of the Bezejmenná team, prompting the usual boyish rivalries and battles. Some of the Bezejmenná players are so preoccupied with the impending »big game« that their schoolwork suffers, to the chagrin of their teachers and parents.
The boys from the Bezejmenná Street hockey team are training relentlessly but neglecting their schoolwork. They are hiding their bad marks from their coach Šácha, grandfather of the team’s secretary Cvalda. The father of the goal-keeper Ivan is very strict and forbids his son to take part in the forthcoming hockey match with the boy-team from Čertovka. The Czechoslovak national hockey team goalkeeper Prokop has just moved into the Bezejmenná Street, together with his family. His son Honza agrees to be the goalkeeper for the boy team, and hides the fact he has only played a forward so far. There is big tension between Ivan and Honza, which culminates in a fight at school. The two teams play their match beside the Vltava river, near Kampa, and the Bezejmenná Street team loses, mainly through Honza’s fault. The conflicts inside the team cause its practical break-up. But then, the old man Šácha takes action. The boys improve their results at school and are training again. Ivan returns to being goalkeeper and Honza starts playing as a forward. In a return match with Čertovka the Bezejmenná Street team wins 10:7.
