Movie description:
In Moscow, it’s the era of disco and perestroika. Borya is a teen ready to become sexually active. Marina is the object of his quest. He asks her to his family’s flat; his enticement is his video player and the promise of a good movie. She negotiates: she wants Champagne. He goes to his uncle for help. His uncle, in turn, makes his own bargain: he’ll help with the alcohol and shows up unannounced at Boris’s with a group of men paying for a poker and video party. In the middle of the party, Marina shows up. Negotiations continue.
Set in Moscow in 1985, the movie is an uproariously funny short following a boy in his mid teens on a quest to lose his virginity with the help of his prize possession – a VCR that everyone wants to watch. What starts as a simple attempt to lure a girl upstairs to his mothers’ tiny apartment to watch disco dance movies and drink champagne (which he has no idea about and thusly ends up with some other sort of unknown liquor ...)
