Movie description:
A photo studio owner and piano teacher have a happy marriage with two young children, a girl in 4th grade and a boy in kindergarten. One day a tragic accident kills the daughter. The son survives but is left with severe survivor guilt and struggles to cope with the trauma of losing his sister. The family now has to cope with the loss and figure out how they can ever live their lives normally again.
Photo shop owner Masahito and his wife Keiko have seemingly the perfect life, living in a small town rural town with son Eiji, daughter Erina, and a golden retriever. All of this disappears in the blink of an eye when Eiji and Erina are involved in a tragic car accident. In that dark tunnel, Erina walks towards the light, and Eiji is left on Earth to carry the guilt of failing to protect his little sister. Erina’s death bears a grave toll on Eiji and his parents, and their previous happiness suddenly slips away. Eiji decides that he must do all he can to save his family from falling apart.
Based on the Janet Lee Carey novel »Wenny Has Wings«, the movie is about a happy family whose world is turned upside-down when an accident injures their son severely and kills their daughter.
The son is left with survivor guilt and his parents, played by Yutaka Takenouchi and Miki Mizuno, don’t quite know how to deal with the tragedy and move on as a normal family again. Meanwhile, the son can’t find a way to tell his parents about the near death experience he had in the moments following the accident and is forced to deal with it in his own way.
