Movie description:
Charlie lives in Mexico with his son Pedro. After being released from jail they both have to move back to Chile where his father – whom he hasn’t seen in more than 30 years – is willing to receive them and help them begin a fresh start. As if that whole move wasn’t stressful enough, Charlie discovers at the airport that his father is a homosexual and worst of all, lives with his partner. With a less than perfect resume, the only job Charlie finds is as a waiter at Lokas, a gay bar. In the meantime, Pedro tries to adjust to his new life and to understand the relationship between his grandfather Mario and this »uncle« Flavio. While missing his mother he focuses on helping his father adapt and cope with his prejudices.
»Lokas« is a comedy filled with humour and emotions which portraits what happens when Charlie (a homophobic 35-year old) is forced to go and live with his son Pedro to his father’s house. Charlie hasn’t seen his dad for more than 30 years, the shock will come when he finds out his father is gay and lives with his boyfriend. This sudden reunion will forced Charlie to find himself again, thanks to his nine year old son, Pedro, who has the innocence to unite his family, inviting them to overcome all prejudices.
