Movie description:

A pair of childhood friends spend a spring together before the summer Algeria’s war of Independence.

In Algeria in the summer of 1962, 11-year-old Ali and his best buddy Nico find that their friendship and those of their other companions come under severe stress as the final weeks of the French presence come to an end. Ali’s dad is a wanted terrorist, and Nico’s family may yet flee the country, though it has been the family’s home for over a century.

The plot concerns the final stages of the Algerian War of Independence in the summer if 1962, as seen through the eyes of Ali, the 11 year-old son of an FLN moudjahid, his mother and his French and Arab friends, as they experience the massive social changes of the end of French rule. The ensemble cast consists mostly of amateur actors.
