Unter Tims Zuschauerpost befindet sich auch ein Schreiben von der Western-Michigan-Universität, das eine große Überraschung für Tim enthält: Ihm wird wegen seiner Erfolge und Verdienste offiziell die Ehrendoktorwürde verliehen. Der Macho Tim platzt fast vor Stolz, als er seiner Frau von der Ehrung erzählt. Jill, die selbst furchtbar hart arbeiten muß, um ihr Examen zu bestehen, kann nicht die rechte Freude über die unverhoffte Auszeichnung ihres Mannes zeigen. Die deutliche Reserviertheit seiner Gattin führt bei dem frischgebackenen Herrn Doktor zu einiger Verstimmung.
